The National Association of Licensed Paralegals (NALP) has, since 1987, dedicated itself to the promoting the status of Paralegals and paralegal training in the United Kingdom and abroad. The NALP is recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications in Englandoffering accredited recognised professional paralegal courses and qualifications for a career in the field of law.

Since 2005, after consultation with other legal bodies (inter alia The Law Society), NALP implemented licensed regulation for its members, ensuring high professional standards are maintained.
