Fellowship Award

The Fellowship Award is open only to fully paid up Associate or Graduate Members of the Association and can be obtained in one of many individual specialised areas of law and practice.

The reason for this is that when a Member reaches this stage in their career, they are usually working within a particular department in a Legal Practice (e.g.. Conveyancing, Litigation, Matrimonial, Probate & Administration, Criminal, etc.) or their position within Commerce, Industry or the Public Sector is usually of a specialised or semi-specialised nature. Members can, therefore, specialise in that particular area of law and/or practice in which they are actually involved and not have to concentrate on other areas of law and/or practice which are of no immediate benefit to them.

Students can add to their expertise, however, by taking further subject areas at a later time. Once the Fellowship Award has been obtained in a particular subject area then Fellows can obtain further Fellowship Level Diplomas in other subject areas if they so wish.

The Fellowship Award is completed by way of private study.

At present the Association offers the Fellowship Award in the following subject areas:

  • Civil Litigation
  • Personal Injury Practice
  • Credit Control and Debt Collecting
  • Business Law and Practice
  • Employment Law and Practice
  • Real Property and Conveyancing
  • Landlord and Tenant Law and Practice
  • Wills, Probate and Administration
  • Matrimonial / Civil Partnership Law & Practice
  • Child Welfare and the Children Act
