NALP expands University tie-ups
The University of East London, the University of West London and Anglia Ruskin University have added the option of taking the Higher Diploma in Paralegal Practice along with their law degrees. Further education colleges are also showing great interest in tie-ups with the NALP to become centres for the Level 4 Diploma in Paralegal Studies....
Make your career in the legal sector's third arm
With the advent of paralegal apprenticeships early next year, and guaranteed funding by the government for 16 to 18-year-olds, followed by the higher national apprenticeships coming into play soon thereafter, school leavers now have numerous options to enter into a career in legal services.
England and Wales no longer has just a two branch legal profession consisting of solicitors (including Ilex) and barristers. We now have a third, viable, independent profession of paralegals which will prove to be more popular and accessible than those that have monopolised it until
now.
Realise your career ambitions
Options include a course in practical skills, covering civil court procedures. Courses are running in March, April and May in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Leeds. View course details.
The Level 2 Legal Office Management Award is a great introduction to business planning, financial management and marketing.
If you would like to improve your understanding of finance, Accounting Comes Alive will teach you the basics and help you to
make better financial decisions.
Level 4 short courses, such as the law of tort, suit anyone who is interested in a specific area of general principals of law. Level 5 short courses include civil litigation, conveyancing and succession.
